The Hums of Winnie-the-Pooh

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Hundred Acre Woods by entering the very musical world of Winnie-the-Pooh, Christopher Robin, and friends. A.A. Milne’s original stories are full of Pooh’s “hums” about bees and “h-u-n-n-y,” the days of the week, floating clouds, and other world wonders. This program weaves composer Harold Fraser-Simson’s charming and humorous settings of Pooh’s hums with context from the stories and projections of E. H. Shepard’s timeless drawings.
The Hums of Winnie-the-Pooh is emblematic of AFM’s commitment to presenting innovative, informative, and intimate concerts to all ages. The pace, variety, perfect length, and, of course, Winnie-the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and other beloved Milne characters offer an engaging introduction to classical concerts and art songs. As Pooh wisely explains, “poetry and hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. And all you can do is go where they can find you.”
