Candide (1999 Version) by Leonard Bernstein, with book adapted from Voltaire by Hugh Wheeler, and lyrics by John Caird. The UAA Opera Ensemble performs this award-winning musical/operetta featuring the brightest voices of the Voice Division. Based on Voltaire's novella, the fast-moving and comical plots entertains, and Berstein's score amazes audiences with songs like "Glitter and be Gay" and "Make Our Garden Grow".
