Stories of Life and Death
House Concert

See the artists up close as they perform chamber music the way it was meant to be heard: in the comfort of the living room! Join us in an intimate house concert setting for string quartets by Smetana and Schubert, and their profound reflections on life and its inevitable demise. A Schubert song—providing inspiration for the composer’s quartet—completes the program.

Northern Sounds
UAA Recital Hall

Finnish composer Olli Mustonen and Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg set the stage for a lively program with echoes of our northern climes. American composer Amy Beach shares her own northern inspiration in a one-movement string quartet, where songful Inuit melodies meet lush chromatic harmonies to form a uniquely lyrical musical landscape.
